Vasse Ravens Into The Cup Final

Vasse Ravens 3 v Dunsborough Diamonds 0

It was a tense first half for the Ravens in their quest to reach the Cup Finals this Saturday.

Although the Ravens easily had the upper hand with good control of the game and many shots on goal; the Dunsborough Diamonds’ goalkeeper in particular was saving the Diamonds from going under early in the game.

True to their form however, the Ravens continued to push forward and through sheer determination by all, a goal did eventuate just 20 seconds before half time through Paris Fields.

Vice Captain Bonny Berridge scored within a few minutes going into the second half and just 10 minutes later another goal came from Elisha Saltarini.

As was expected the Diamonds tried to breakdown the Ravens defence but they were resolute.

On a couple of occasions they did have an opportunity of scoring however goalkeeper Brooke Fields had safe hands and defensively Ebony Brown was superb as well as the ever reliable Kelli Cockman as sweeper.

It was another fantastic game to watch and a well deserved win by the girls who all played extremely well. This Saturday will see them play in the Cup Final against the Margaret River Breakers in Capel at 12.30pm.
