Vasse Ravens Continue to Shine

Margaret River Hot Shots 1 v Vasse Ravens 6

A full sided Vasse girls travelled to Margaret River on Saturday to challenge the mighty Margaret River Hot Shots & came home with a victorious 6 -1 win.

The win was sealed in the first half with Rebecca Williams showing true striker form, working hard and earning herself a splendid hat trick thanks to service via Samantha Baillie, Elisha Saltarini & Sarah Hollett.

Siobhan Longmore scored a sizzling goal, along with Elisha & Sarah.

Vasse backline were in total control playing the ball out with the ever reliable Captain Ariana Longmore & was backed up by Brooke Fields who had a fantastic game at full back along with Harriet Hole. Some great long goal kicks came from Ashleigh Fletcher for the first half rotating goal duty.

Second half was a slack affair as Vasse stepped off the pedal & allowed Margies some time on the ball which created their only goal. After a strong tussle inside the 18 yard box the referee saw fit to award a penalty & without hesitation Margies put Vasse's first conceding goal past Emily Parkhurst. Dominique Boshoff was a hidden surprise in a forward role showing great strength & pace on the ball & midfielders Somer Palandri & Samantha ran hard all game which coach Therese Fletcher awarding Samantha player of the day followed closely by Ariana & Brooke for their outstanding efforts & composure on the ball.

Vasse will see Dunsborough again next week at Barnard Park & will be looking for another strong win.
