Mudfest At Margaret River!

FMR Spitfires v Cornerstone Rockets

Following on from our fabulous MR Derby showdown with the FMR Spitfires, last Saturday FMR Strikers played at home, hosting the Cornerstone Rockets. The pitch was muddy from recent rains but the weather held off for the match, thankfully.

Warm-up drills to start with, under the watchful eye of our freshly injured Coach, Jamie (yes a soccer injury of course!). Cornerstone had plenty of possession and their goal keeper saved numerous attempts by FMR Strikers.

Substitutions kept our team fresh and the Strikers held their positions well, showed tenacity and passion for their sport eagerly chasing down the ball. Their team efforts saw fabulous goals by Jayden, Ella, Jaxon De, Aiden and a much wanted and deserved goal by Leroy.

After the game the Coach made a comment about the mud and a celebratory slide. Of course they all obliged, some with a ‘splodge’, others with a double kneel victory stance, and of course some of them wallowed. Lots of fun had on and literally on the pitch today.

Well done Strikers for a match well played.
