Year 5 MiniRoos

Sibling Rivalry had Mambos Soaring!

FMR Mambos 5 v FMR Rovers 4

As the sun shone bright in Margaret River so did the skill set and team efforts of the Mambos winning their 2nd game of the season 5 goals to 4 against their FMR sibling team, the Rovers.

The game was a nail biter with both FMR sides eager to score.

Lilo Fritsch scored 1st with the help of a well timed pass from Felix Rice.

Mambos player of the match & true sportsman Charlie Best, unknowingly helped the Rovers equalize! Charlie’s fancy footwork and fast thinking made for great football.

Shortly thereafter, the Rovers were on the scoreboard again with the Rovers ahead 2 goals to 1 at the end of the 1st half.

There must’ve been some juice in those oranges because both sides came out fighting for the ball in the 2nd half.

Nick Bosich set up the pass to Reina Woolgar who after fielding goals in the 1st half came out strong from left wing to score.

Nick’s determination and persistence paid off with him also scoring the next goal for the Mambos.

Felix’s 1st attempt to score in the 2nd half was unsuccessful but there was no mistaking his 2nd try as he raised the stakes to the sibling rivalry.

Max Douglas’ soccer skills continued when as goalie he blocked some fast paced kicks from the Rovers.

Keanu Fritsch’s big boots & constant defense prevented the determined attack of the Rovers.

Mikey Jeffs was all over the soccer ball each time it drew near. There was no stopping him as he inevitably scored the winning goal which had the Mambos and their supporters soaring with success.

Thanks to Archie’s Dad for stepping up to be the referee on short notice.
