Margaret River Bombers Take on the Cornerstone Cubs

FMR Bombers v COR Cubs

The Margaret River Bombers played the Cornerstone Cubs at Margaret River on Saturday morning. Both teams performed well and showed a good understanding of the game for this early stage in the season. Teams broke into two groups of four a side, to play separate pitches side by side.

Pitch one was a closely fought affair with both teams scoring goals. Finn Callaghan showed he was not afraid to tackle and was excellent in defence, while Harvey Selmes did lots of running breakaways with the ball. Ophelia Shilkin and Olive Hardy displayed fantastic team spirit and enthusiasm and Yasmin Callaghan did some great sideline kick-ins.

Pitch Two was just as competitive, Lottie Wood came out strong with great dribbling and running with the ball, there was some solid tackling from Tori Armstrong and great team support from Savannah Deighton. Benjamin Glynn did some powerful kicking and was immense in defence, he never gave up.

Congratulations to all the players and Paul Callaghan our wonderful coach, it’s been a great start to the 2014 season. Go the Bombers!
