GMAS MYSTERY v FMR RAIDERS
FMR Raiders headed to Busselton on Saturday to take GMAS Mystery in some crazy conditions at the newly renovated Barnard Park.
The FMR boys were hoping to build on their last game, a 3-2 come from behind win over the might of Dunsborough Delta Force.
Saturday’s game plan was pretty simple due to the extreme conditions, keep possession, keep the ball on the deck and pass to feet.
The first couple of minutes FMR settled early with some great first touches and slick football.
With some nice build up and attack down the left Noah Cummins found the ball at his feet and with the centre back and goalie to beat, he turned well to slot home the opener.
FMR kept the momentum going and with a small change of position, Ryan Goh-Edwards moved to left wing and showed the run in him. He took on the defence with confidence scored two cracking goals .
Ryan’s second, a beautiful side footed finish into the bottom corner.
FMR went into the break 3-0 up but being against the strong wind in the second half was going to be testy.
FMR continued to shut down the GMAS attacks with Captain Alister White having a great game at Centre Back. Also trying to add another goal, Brenton Tebbutt made some solid runs down the right, whipping in a couple of great crosses, unfortunately the FMR frontline didn’t get on the end of them.
GMAS managed a consolation goal to make the score 3-1 , but it was the Raiders who prevailed with numerous solid performances across the park.
Next week see’s FMR take on the LNJSA Dev .Squad , should be a cracker.
