FMR Raiders Outclassed by the SJM Strikers

FMR Raiders 1 v SJM Strikers 8

Saturday morning saw the visit of SJM Strikers to Margaret River in what seemed an even match up on paper with only two points separating the teams.

You could see from the start the Strikers were here for business and Raiders needed to be on their game .

Unfortunately it wasn’t to be as the Strikers dominated the first half with a great attacking display and hunger for the ball, scoring four goals in the process .

With a strong half time talk from coach and players ,Raiders new they had to lift in the second half and restore some pride for themselves and the supporters.

Unfortunately the Strikers had other ideas and scored within seconds of the retake.

In the end the visitors ran out winning the game 8-1.

There were some solid performances from the Raiders with the likes of Liam Mattinson, Alister White, Pascoe Paice and Jykia River in goals showing some heart and River spirit .

Brenton Tebbutt and Kilburn Booth who both worked tirelessly the whole game were rewarded with a beautifully taken goal for the local boys when Brenton sent in a sweet cross for Kilburn to score with well taken strike. The Raiders know they will be a better team after this loss and will be looking forward to the second half of the season.
