FMR Rovers v Capel Wolves

Saturday 25th May 2019

Starting strongly, within 5 minutes Rovers were ahead, Finley’s shot going into the top right corner.
Despite playing with only 9 players, Capel rose to the challenge with determination and energy, making it difficult for Rovers to hold their positions. Capel blocked multiple shots from Noah, Chips, Manni and Archie but eventually Finley broke through to score again.

By halftime Fred had added to the goal tally, skillfully bypassing several Capel players with assistance from Manni. Noah was unlucky not to score hitting the far post from out wide.

Capel worked hard and were rewarded a few minutes into the second half when their goalie kicked a long high ball that bypassed Rovers in midfield and defence. Despite a strong challenge from second half goalie James, Capel’s Darren pounced on the loose ball and scored.

This game was a different kind of challenge for the Rovers but they are beginning to gel as a team, building confidence in each others strengths and including the whole team in the game. This teamwork paid off as Tom found the back of the net and Finley completed his hat-trick to take Rovers to a 5 – 1 victory.

Manni’s relentless chasing down of the ball and confident crosses into the box earn him player of the day and Foodroom voucher. Well done Manni, and great job Rovers.
